Ready Set Confetti

Pairing a fun brand with an equally as fun retail concept.

I worked with the minds behind this creative retail idea to create a brand identity that fit the fun-spirited nature of the storefront and its services.

The challenge

Calling All Dreamers is a yearly retail business competition produced by the Downtown Sacramento Partnership and Foundation that encourages local entrepreneurs to compete for the chance to open a downtown storefront and receive a business start-up package.

Ready Set Confetti aims to be Sacramento’s one-stop-shop for boutique party supplies and gifts, highly customized installations, and complete planning for personal and corporate events. They needed a brand to convey the attention to detail their team could bring to birthdays, baby showers, office celebrations, and grand openings.

The process


The team was already hard at work creating eye-catching balloon garlands and using the types of supplies they would aim to sell at their physical storefront at trial events.

I used these images to guide the direction of the brand concept.


The brand pairs modern sans-serif and companion slab-serif typefaces with a festive brush script, which speaks to the personal touch that Ready Set Confetti provides.

A soft blush pink provides a youthful touch to the more serious deep blue and a slew of accent colors give the brand depth.


Assorted patterns of confetti speak to the brand's namesake and are used throughout social media badges, business cards, and backgrounds.
